| Michael James Wuertz (Würtz) (born December 15,1978 in Austin, Minnesota) is a right-handed relief pitcher in Major League Baseball. He currently plays for the Chicago Cubs. He made his major league debut on April 5, 2004 against the Cincinnati Reds which was opening day. He is one of a handful of Chicago Cubs potential closers of the future though he is not closing for the Cubs at the moment.
