| Michael James Nickeas (born on February 13, 1983 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) is a minor league catcher for the Texas Rangers. Born in Vancouver, while his dad played for the Vancouver Whitecaps of the NASL. He graduated from Westlake High School in Westlake Village, California. He played 3 years at Georgia Tech before being drafted by the Rangers in the 5th round of the 2004 draft. He started his pro career with the Spokane Indians of the Northwest League. He batted .288 with 10 HRs and 55 RBIs for Spokane. In 2005, he played for the Rangers' Double A team, the Frisco RoughRiders. He had a disappointing year, he batted only .202 with 5 HRs and 24 RBIs in 68 games.
