Monta Ellis (born October 26, 1985 in Jackson, Mississippi) is a professional basketball player, who plays the point guard positon. He is currently playing for the NBA's Golden State Warriors. He was drafted by the Warriors in the 2nd round (40th overall) in the 2005 NBA Draft.

High school career

Ellis attended Lanier High School, where he was named Parade Magazine High School Player of the Year 2005 (along with Greg Oden). Some consider him as the greatest scorer in high school since Dajuan Wagner. In December, 2004, he averaged 45 points per game.
