| Neal Anderson (born August 14, 1964 in Graceville, Florida) is an American Football player who was one of the greatest running backs in Chicago Bears history. He was an immediate pro bowler from his first full season at half back until his untimely injuries and family problems around 1992. Three times his rushing totals exceeded 1,000 yards in a season, and he was selected to the Pro Bowl four times. With 1,275 yards in 1989, Anderson finished second to Detroit's Barry Sanders among NFC rushers. He will always be remembered as one of the toughest and guttiest running backs that could never receieve his full due because he had to fill an impossible legend's shoes in Walter Payton.
