| Nia Abdallah, born on January 24 1984, is the 2004 Olympic silver medalist and the first U.S. woman to officially medal in Taekwondo at the Olympics. Born in Houston, Abdallah was introduced to Taekwondo by her father when she was 9 years old. Late last year she gave birth to daughter Lela but came back on Feb. 16 of this year to earn a spot on the 2006 U.S. Senior National Team in the lightweight division.
