Orlando Jordan (born April 21, 1980 in Richmond, Virginia) is a professional wrestler currently working for World Wrestling Entertainment in its SmackDown! brand. He was famous for being a skilled amateur boxer and amateur wrestler in his own home-state at Florida.World Wrestling EntertainmentOn June 26, 2003, Jordan made his WWE SmackDown! debut as a face at Madison Square Garden against then heel, John Cena. Although he did not win the match, he was impressive enough that when Cena attacked Jordan after the match was over, The Undertaker came to the ring and even helped Jordan to his feet. Taker took time to shake Jordan's hand and congratulate him on a good effort; the ultimate sign of respect for a WWE rookie.JBL's Chief of StaffLater he would turn heel by joining forces with JBL as his "Chief of Staff". Other members of this stable, the Cabinet, included: the "Co-Secretaries of Defense"; the Basham Brothers (Doug and Danny Basham), Image Consultant Amy Weber and at the time WWE Champion (and leader) John "Bradshaw" Layfield.Jordan and the Bashams had been one of the reasons JBL managed to keep his title for nearly 10 months, though after Wrestlemania 21 JBL stated that his Cabinet had been the ones who were holding him back, which caused the departure of the Bashams. On a Smackdown! episode which aired on March 3rd 2005, Orlando Jordan defeated John Cena with the help of JBL to win the WWE U.S. Title. At Judgment Day, Jordan retained his title for the first time on a WWE pay-per-view. He defeated Heidenreich with a DDT out of nowhere. At The Great American Bash 2005 on July 24 in Buffalo, New York at the H.S.B.C. Arena, Orlando Jordan defeated Chris Benoit and retained the United States Championship when Jordan removed the turnbuckle pad. Benoit went for a German suplex but Jordan shoved Benoit head-first into the exposed turnbuckle and covered him for the win. Benoit finally defeated Jordan for the U.S. Championship in 25 seconds at SummerSlam 2005 on August 21 in Washington, D.C. at the M.C.I. Center. He has lost to Chris Benoit 3 consecutive times, with all matches lasting less than a minute. The first time was 23.4 seconds. The second time, Jordan actually almost knocked out Benoit with a punch but soon lost at 22.5 seconds, faster than the first. The third time,he stalled until the time went over 25 seconds. He got so excited when his time went over 30 seconds that he gave Benoit the chance to lock the Crossface for a win at 49.8 seconds. After losing the U.S. Title, Jordan broke away from JBL, and was hardly seen on TV except for a few occasions. Orlando Jordan stands as the longest reigning United States Champion in the title's WWE history and the longest regining US Champ in 11 years. For a brief time, Orlando Jordan was the top champion on WWE SmackDown! due to the fact that the WWE Champion at the time, John Cena, was traded to WWE RAW. This was never acknowledged and Orlando Jordan and the United States Title remained on SmackDown!'s secondary program WWE Velocity and although he was the top champion he never got a main event push even though it would have been for an extremely brief period of time. SmackDown! soon got the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and it's holder, Dave Batista. Booker T and the United States TitleWhen Booker T got injured half way through his Best of Seven series for the United Sates title he needed a replacement to face Chris Benoit in the last three matches. As the series was at 3-1 to Booker, Booker T only need his replacement to win one match for him to become the Undisputed US Champion, Orlando approached him about the position but Booker T and his wife Sharmell laughed in Orlando's face and made jokes about Orlando's quick tap outs to Benoit.Booker would go on to use Randy Orton as the replacement, Orton would fail to win the deciding match leading Orlando Jordan to once again ask for the position the next week, Booker T and his wife laughed at him and turned him down once again. During the sixth match in the series Orlando Jordan jumped the rail, grabbed Booker T's crutch and whacked Chris Benoit for a DQ finish, Chris Benoit was announced as the winner, tieing the Best of Seven Series at 3-3. (Orlando Jordan in fact botched the finish and accidentally hit Orton first but it was edited out of the show.)
