Fred Otis Amey (born on December 4, 1981 in Union City, California) is a wide receiver in the NFL. He currently plays for the San Francisco 49ers. He was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He went to Sacramento State University. He is the punt returner for the 49ers. He returned a punt against the St. Louis Rams for a touchdown in the first game of the 2005 season. He changed his name from Fred Amey to Otis Amey before the start of 2005 season. His brother Vince Amey played at Arizona State University and was also a member of the Oakland Raiders for a few years.

High school career

Amey attended James Logan High School in Union City, California and lettered in football, baseball, and track. As a senior, in football, he was an All-Mission Valley Athletic League selection and helped lead his team to the League championship.
