Paul DeMayo (Born September 12 1967) was a US IFBB Professional bodybuilder nicknamed Quadzilla for his enormous quadriceps development. DeMayo died of a heroin overdose on June 2 2005 in Boston.

Personal life

According to people close to him, DeMayo's problems started when his wife left him and he returned to Boston after he moved to California with her to train in Gold's Gym. He then was signed to an endorsement contract by sports nutritional supplement company Met-Rx and forced to compete in the 1995 Mr. Olympia against his wishes. He placed a disappointing 12th and retired shortly afterwards.

Final years and death

DeMayo spent two years in Walpole state prison for shooting at his girlfriend and possession of percodan. The months before his death he told friends he was working at the Gold's Gym, Lansdown St., Boston, MA location but it was revealed he was let go several months earlier because of a substance abuse problem.

DeMayo's body was found by his father.
