Paul Gurner Maholm (born on June 25, 1982 in Greenwood, Mississippi) is a lefthanded pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was a three-year letterman while pitching at Mississippi State, before being selected by the Pirates in the first round (8th overall) of the 2003 Major League Baseball draft.

He made his major league debut, as a starter, on August 30, 2005 against the Milwaukee Brewers and pitched 8.0 shutout innings, earning his first career win. He finished the 2005 season, providing the Pirates with a 3-1 record in 6 games, with a 2.18.

Maholm is projected to be a member of the Pirates five-man starting pitching rotation in 2006.
