Paul Anthony Sorrento (born November 17, 1965 in Somerville, Massachusetts) is a former first baseman in Major League Baseball. From 1989 through 1999, Sorrento played for the Minnesota Twins (1989-91), Cleveland Indians (1992-95), Seattle Mariners (1996-97) and Tampa Bay Devil Rays (1998-99). He batted left handed and threw right handed. Sorrento played college baseball for the Florida State University Seminoles under head coach Mike Marin.

Career

In an 11-season career, Sorrento posted a .257 batting average with 166 home runs and 565 RBI in 1093 games played.

  • 1996: .289 BA, 23 HR, 93 RBI
  • 1997: .269 BA, 31 HR, 80 RBI

Fact

  • Sorrento became the first DH in Tampa Bay history (March 31, 1998)
