Athletes - Paul Wylie

Paul Stanton Wylie (born October 24, 1964) is a US figure skater and 1992 Olympic Silver Medalist.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Wylie began skating at the age of 3. At age 11, he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he trained with Carlo Fassi for 9 years. He, and partner Dana Graham, won the National Junior Pairs title in 1980; as well as taking second place in the U.S. National Junior Men's competition. The following year, as a solo skater, he won both the U.S. National Junior Championship and the World Junior Championship. In 1985, he moved to Boston to train with the Scotvolds — coached by Evy Scotvold and his routines choreographed by Mary Scotvold.

Wylie was the U.S. Silver Medalist in 1988, 1990, and 1992. He won the silver medal at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. After the Olympics, Wylie joined the professional skating ranks — winning the 1992 U.S. Open Professional Championship and the 1993 World Professional Championship. Wylie toured with Stars on Ice from 1992 to 1998.

Wylie has worked as a sports commentator/analyst, most recently for ESPN.
