| Pedro Guerrero (born June 29, 1956 in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic) is a former Major League Baseball player who spent his career (1978-1992) with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals. While playing at first base more than any other position, he also saw substantial play as a third baseman and in all three outfield positions, amassing 215 home runs and 898 RBI, with a batting average of .300. Guerrero was a co-MVP (along with Ron Cey and Steve Yeager) of the 1981 World Series. He hit .333, hit two home runs, and drove in seven runs in the Series. Guerrero was acquitted of federal drug charges in 2000; his attorneys had argued that the fact that he was functionally illiterate and had an IQ of 70 made it impossible for him to understand the drug deal in which a friend had involved him .
