Rashad Dion McCants (born September 25 1984 in Asheville, North Carolina, USA) was a member of the UNC basketball team from 2002-2005. He played as shooting guard or small forward. He helped lead UNC to win the ACC regular season and the NCAA tournament with a win over Illinois 75-70. McCants declared his eligibilty for the 2005 NBA Draft, and was selected 14th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite leaving after his Junior year at UNC, Rashad ranks 14th all-time in scoring, with 1721 points and is tied for second with 221 career three-point field goals.

McCants and fellow UNC classmates Raymond Felton and Sean May enrolled at UNC as top recruits the same year as equally touted Duke recruits J. J. Redick and Shelden Williams, beginning yet another hotly contested chapter in the storied North Carolina-Duke basketball rivalry. Ultimately, McCants and company got the best of their Duke counterparts, winning the 2005 National Title and becoming lottery picks in the NBA draft, while Redick and Williams chose to return to Duke for their senior seasons in a final effort to win a National Title.
