| Rena Inoue (井上怜奈 Inoue Rena born October 17, 1976 in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Japan) is an American figure skater. She currently competes in pairs with John Baldwin, her partner both on- and off the ice. They have twice won gold medals at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and will compete in the 2006 Winter Olympics. Previously, she represented Japan as a singles and pairs skater and competed in two Winter Olympics. She became a U.S. citizen in 2005. Inoue and her partner John Baldwin were the first pair to successfully perform a throw triple Axel in competition at the 2006 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and then made Olympic history landing it again at the 2006 Winter Games. Inoue was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1998. However, it was detected early, and after six months of chemotherapy, she was cancer-free. Competitive highlightsSingles1994
