| Rene Reyes (born February 21, 1978) is a Major League Baseball center fielder and switch-hitter batter who plays for the Colorado Rockies. Reyes was born in Margarita, Nueva Esparta State, Venezuela. One of the best pure hitting prospects around, he is a good outfielder and his speed is above-average. Since Reyes struggled in two trials with the Rockies in 2003-04, he figures to open 2005 at Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox, and the Rockies will be anxiously watching his progress. In two seasons, Reyes has batted .220 with two home runs and eight RBI in 81 games. See also
