| Rick Mirer (born March 3 1970 in Goshen, Indiana) is a former quarterback in the National Football League. After his collegiate career at Notre Dame, Mirer was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks with the second pick in the 1993 NFL Draft. Mirer never lived up to expectations, and was most recently the backup QB for the Detroit Lions in 2004. All-pro quarterbacks Mark Brunell and Trent Green were both selected well after Mirer in the 1993 draft. In his career, Mirer also played for the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, and Oakland Raiders. He retired before the 2005 season.
