| Robert Edward Machado (better known simply as Rob Machado) (b. October 16, 1973)) is an American professional surfer from the Cardiff by the Sea section of Encinitas, California. Machado attended San Dieguito High School, and is known for his casual, "laid-back" style both in and out of the water. Despite much acclaim and notoriety in the surfing world, he has never won a championship. Machado is a very good friend of and served as an inspiration to quadriplegic surfer Jesse Billauer.
