| Roger Thorpe Peckinpaugh (February 5, 1891 - November 17, 1977) was an American shortstop in Major League Baseball for the Cleveland Indians (1910-1913), New York Yankees (1913-1921), Washington Senators (1922-1926) and Chicago White Sox (1927). He managed the Yankees for 20 games in 1914 and was the team captain for the remainder of his time with the club. Born in Wooster, Ohio, he won the League Award in the American League in 1925. After retiring, Peckinpaugh served as the Indians' manager, and later on became Cleveland's general manager and president. He died in Cleveland, Ohio at age 86.
