| Roy Edward Oswalt (born August 29, 1977 in Weir, Mississippi) is a starting pitcher in Major League Baseball who plays for the Houston Astros (since 2001). He bats and throws right handed. Oswalt is known as one of the faster workers in baseball in terms of time between pitches. Despite his 6'0", 175 lbs. frame, he is one of baseball's hardest hurlers, and frequently appears among the league leaders in Innings Pitched. CareerRoy Oswalt is currently considered to be among the elite pitchers in the National League. In a five-year career, Oswalt has compiled an 82-39 record with a 3.05 ERA and a 3.75 strikeout-to-walk ratio (844-to-225) in 974.2 innings pitched. He posted a 20-12 win in 2005 with a 2.94 ERA. One problem though was he got 12 losses which put him low in Cy Young voting.Highlights
