| Shairon Martis (born March 30, 1987) is a native of CuraƧao who pitched for The Netherlands in the 2006 World Baseball Classic. He is also one of the top pitching prospects in the San Francisco Giants organization. Martis pitched a no-hitter on March 10, 2006 in the World Baseball Classic against Panama, in a game stopped in the 7th inning due to the mercy rule. He pitched in 11 games in 2005 with 5 starts. His record was 2-1 with a 1.85 ERA for the Giants' Arizona Rookie League team. Martis is expected to play this season for either Single-A Augusta in the South Atlantic League or short-season A-ball at Salem-Keizer in the Northwest League.
