Athletes - Sharmell Sullivan

Sharmell Sullivan-Huffman, better known simply as Sharmell (born November 2, 1970 in Gary, Indiana), is a Diva for WWE, under its SmackDown! brand. She is a former member of WCW's Nitro Girls.

Career

Miss Black America (1991)

She won the Miss Black America pageant in 1991. The pageant that year was overshadowed by accusations of rape by another contestant against Mike Tyson
, who served as a judge for that pageant. Tyson would later be convicted on charges stemming from that incident.

World Championship Wrestling (1999-2001)

She joined WCW's Nitro Girls in 1999 as Nitro Girl Storm. She soon left them to become a valet for The Artist called Paisley. She feuded with Tammy Lynn Sytch
and wrestled her several times. Sullivan was then part of the pop music group Diversity 5 with other former Nitro Girls.

World Wrestling Federation (2001-2002)

When WCW was purchased by Vince McMahon in mid 2001, Sharmell was brought along to be a backstage interviewer for the WWF (now WWE). She was later sent to the WWF's developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. Sharmell suffered an injury in April 2002 that took her off TV for a long time. She was eventually released in August 2002.

Sharmell's Return (2005)

Sharmell returned to WWE as a face Diva. Sharmell married wrestler Booker T
in February 2005. She returned to the SmackDown! brand alongside her husband in April 2005. They immediately got into a feud with Kurt Angle
, where Angle called Sharmell a "gutter slut" and started stalking her, claiming that's what she liked. The feud ended when Booker beat Angle at Judgment Day 2005. Afterward Angle tried to handcuff Sharmell to the ring, but Booker stopped him and handcuffed him instead. Angle got beaten by Booker, then slapped repeatedly by Sharmell, who finished by kicking Angle in the groin. Angle was drafted to the RAW brand.

Sharmell was involved in a short feud with MNM and Jillian Hall
, as part of a storyline where MNM member Melina
was trying to show her dominace over the other SmackDown! Divas. Melina defeated Sharmell.

After this small feud Sharmell began to show frustration over Booker T's weak win/loss record at the time. She began providing assistance to Booker T during his matches, which usually lead to a win, assistance Booker didn't want. Sharmell turned heel when she started interfering with Booker's matches. She tripped Rey Mysterio
giving Booker a chance to have a shot at the WWE United States Championship which was held by Chris Benoit at the time. Sharmell's assistance and aid to Booker made Benoit lose his title when she gave Benoit a low blow while Booker T and the referee were both distracted. Thus Booker became the new WWE United States Champion. The next week, Booker saw the footage, offered Benoit a rematch, and made Sharmell offer an "apology." The Apology turned out to be a set-up as Booker then ambushed Benoit, and started his own heel turn. She now seems to be using a prom queen image, complete with a gown, tiara, and sash. She now openly interjects herself into Booker T's matches, using everything from chairs to crutches.

Currently, Sharmell has been involved in an angle with The Boogeyman and has since then been placed in a match at Wrestlemania 22 with her husband where they both take on The Boogeyman in a Handicapped Match.
