Shoma Sawamura (沢村将馬 Sawamura Shoma) is a character from the Rival Schools series. He is a second-year student at Gorin High School as of Project Justice, and is a star on the school's baseball team.

Rival Schools

Shoma's involvement began when an attack on Gorin HS hospitalized his brother, the Gorin ace pitcher Shuuichi. Worried that Shuuichi's injuries would prevent him from joining the professional baseball circuits and hence enraged at whoever had been behind this, Shoma immediately teamed up with Natsu and Roberto in search of the culprits. Although he separated from them following a quarrel and was as a result captured by Justice HS, the experience as a whole established a solidarity of friendship between the three of them.

Project Justice

Their friendship is put to the test with Momo forcing Shoma to choose between her and his longtime comrades. Shoma made the wrong decision and was thus manipulated not only against Natsu and Roberto but against the Taiyo team as well. But he eventually came to his senses and reunited with the Gorin team for the final battle against the enemy.

Trivia

"Shoma" is Japanese for "champion."
