Athletes - Sidney Lowe


Sidney Lowe (born January 21 1960 in Washington, DC) is a former basketball player and coach. He played collegiate ball at North Carolina State University and was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 1st pick of the second round in the 1983 NBA Draft. He played a total of four seasons in the NBA, for five different teams.

After retiring from basketball, Lowe served as the head coach for two NBA teams, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Memphis (formerly Vancouver) Grizzlies. He was the coach both before and after the team moved from Vancouver, Canada to Memphis, Tennessee.
