Athletes - Steve Massiah

Steve J Massiah (born 21 June 1979 in Georgetown, Guyana) is an American cricketer. He has represented the United States since 1999, playing in the Red Stripe Bowl in that year. In 2004 Massiah competed in the ICC Intercontinental Cup, a first-class cricket competition for national teams below Test level. He also competed in the ICC Six Nations Challenge, which earned the United States qualification to the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy in England. It was there that the United States played their first two official one-day internationals, and the US was comprehensively thrashed by both New Zealand and Australia. Massiah played in both these matches, notching up a top score of 23 in the game against Australia, where no other American had a score in double figures. Massiah also represented the US in the 2005 ICC Trophy, a one-day tournament between non-Test teams. He plays his domestic cricket in the Eastern American Cricket League in the New York Region.
