Steve Wojciechowski, better known as "Wojo," was a basketball player at Duke University from 1994 until 1998 where he was the team's point guard. He currently is an assistant coach at Duke under head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Player career

During Wojo's career, the Duke Blue Devils achieved an 87-44 record, won the ACC regular season championship in the 1996-97 season, and played in the NCAA South Regional final in the 1997-98 season. During his senior year, Wojo earned National Defensive Player of the Year honors and was an honorable mention All-American.

He is ranked eighth at Duke for career steals (203) and eighth for career assists (505). He also achieved the second highest number of steals in a single season with 82 in 1997.

Coaching

Following his graduation from Duke, Wojciechowski played professional basketball in Poland for a year, then returned to Duke in 1999 as an intern in the Duke Management Company and was a basketball analyst on the Duke Radio Network.

Wojciechowski was then offered a coaching job by Krzyzewski and began his career as an assistant coach in 1999. Although he is a 5'11" (1.80 m) point guard, Wojo is Duke's "big man" coach for the inside players. During Wojo's coaching career, the Blue Devils have been one of the country's best teams, ranking on top of the national polls every year. The Duke Blue Devils won the NCAA championship in 2001.
