Terrence Deon Long is a left fielder currently with Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals, and has a career batting average of .268. A left-handed hitter, he is expected to platoon with the right-handed Eli Marrero in 2005.

Long was acquired from the San Diego Padres with pitcher Dennis Tankersley in exchange for pitchers Darrell May and Ryan Bukvich. Initially a center fielder for the Athletics, Long has played all three outfield positions in the majors. Long was a regular for the Athletics until 2003, after which he was traded to the Padres, where he served as a fourth outfielder and pinch hitter.

On June 2, 1994 he was drafted by the New York Mets in the 1st round (20th pick) of the 1994 amateur draft. Then on July 23, 1999 he was traded by the New York Mets with Leo Vasquez (minors) to the Oakland Athletics for Kenny Rogers. Then on November 26, 2003 he was traded by the Oakland Athletics with Ramon Hernandez to the San Diego Padres for Mark Kotsay. Then on November 8, 2004 he was traded by the San Diego Padres with Dennis Tankersley and cash to the Kansas City Royals for Ryan Bukvich and Darrell May.
