Terry Albritton (January 14, 1955–September 1, 2005) was an American athlete and coach. He was born in Newport Beach, California.Athletic accomplishments
CareerAlbritton worked at his alma mater, University of Hawaii, as a strength coach from 1979 to 1985. He is regarded as a pioneer in importing the training techniques from the Soviet Union to the U.S.. These methods include power cleans, plyometrics, and other fast twitching muscle training techniques. These techniques improved all of the athletes at the University of Hawaii, regardless of sport in terms of speed and quickness and was still in use as of September 2005.From 1990 to 2004, he was a teacher and assistant football coach at St. Anthony High School and was also a personal trainer on Maui for professional athletes. Albritton suffered a fatal heart attack in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where he was attempting to write a book.
