| Tim Redding is a major-league baseball player. He grew up in Rochester, NY and was a fan of the New York Yankees growing up. He was drafted by the Houston Astros, but a poor pitching performance in 2004 caused his trade to the San Diego Padres. He would go 0‑5 with a 9.31 ERA with the Padres in 2005 until being traded to the New York Yankees. However, his stint with the Yankees would be short lived, since in his one inning in a start against the Boston Red Sox he allowed six earned runs, and by the next day, he was designated for assignment to allow a spot for pitcher Al Leiter. Tim Redding signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox.
