Antonio Enrique Álvarez (born May 10, 1979 in Caracas, Venezuela), is a Major League Baseball center fielder and right-handed batter who has played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2002 and 2004.

At 25, Álvarez has been is considered one of the top ten Pirates prospects both by Baseball America and ESPN. He was signed by the Chicago White Sox as a free agent before the 2005 season.

Alvarez is a .250 hitter with two home runs and 10 RBI in 38 games.

On December 3, 2005 Antonio married the Venezuela's actress/hostees Mariangel Ruiz, who was Miss Venezuela 2002 and participated in the Miss Universe contest, where she end up as first-runner up. She was born on January 07, 1980 in Guarico, Venezuela and she's a star of the Venevision network.
