Yan Stastny (born September 30, 1982 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada) is a Canadian-born American ice hockey player of Slovak descent, who plays for the Boston Bruins.

Yan comes from a notable hockey family: he is the son of Hockey Hall of Famer Peter Stastny (one of the first star Eastern Bloc players to defect to the West), his uncles Anton and Marian Stastny also played in the NHL, and his brother Paul Stastny is a prospect in the Colorado Avalanche organization. Born in Quebec City but growing up mostly in St. Louis, Missouri, Yan played for Team USA in the 2005 IIHF World Championships; making the Stastnys the first hockey family known to have represented four different countries in international play (his father having played for Czechoslovakia at first, Canada in the 1984 Canada Cup as a naturalized citizen, and Slovakia after the Velvet Revolution and Velvet Divorce).

After playing 51 games of the 2005-2006 season with the Iowa Stars, Yan made his NHL debut on March 1, 2006 against the St. Louis Blues, the last team for which his father played.

On March 9, 2006, he was traded to the Bruins from the Edmonton Oilers along with Marty Reasoner, and a second round pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft for Sergei Samsonov as part of an NHL trade deadline deal.
