| Tara Road (1998, ISBN 0385335121) is a novel by Maeve Binchy. It is the story of two women, one from Ireland and one from America, who having never met, trade houses. They're both looking for an escape from their problems but by running away come to discover a great deal about themselves. The book mostly concentrates on the life of Ria Lynch, the Irish woman, who has met her future husband Danny Lynch. It is a story of love and deciet, of friendship and courage. While telling of the adventures and mishappens of this community residing on Tara Road, Maeve Binchy allows us into a world of as much reality as the one we are in now, and it was chosen as an Oprah's Book Club® selection September of 1999.
