Books - The Pioneers

The Pioneers of Time is a rapidly growing book series by author Isaac Work. It consists of six parts, one of which is completed, revised , and edited. A summary follows (Protected by copyright laws): The Pioneers of Time starts by introducing the three main characters of course. You meet the characters first while they are illegally scaling a cliff to skip school. Using futuristic technology, they escape the situation and hope that they won’t get caught again. After days of thought, Alex builds a time machine for more adventure and travels to the future to test it out. Once successful, he decides to tell his two friends about his discoveries. After hearing about the machine, however, James and Patrick are uncertain that Alex really built a time machine and so they go to his house to see for themselves. Instead, an enemy of Alex’s shows up and proves his intelligence by destroying the controls to Alex’s inventions and stealing the time machine. When Alex gets settled and decides to reveal his machine to his friends, it is gone and they are determine to tell everyone they possibly can about Alex’s big lie. Instead, Alex reworks an invention of his and temporarily freezes time to stop his friends. When they wake up, the time machine has taken to the prehistoric, and Alex is happy because they are no longer letting everyone know about it. After a surprising discovery of Alex’s long lost father, they trek to the village Zeruc, and from there to Neroni, where they will look for the Cretaceous Crystal, a legendary stone that will take them back to 2003. Sneaking past Alex’s suspicious father, they continue on to the mountain where the Crystal is said to be hidden. Once they are inside the mountain, they find that the enemy, Sordet, has traveled to the same time period and is ready to kill the trio. They are shot by tranquilizers and fed to a dinosaur. They are lead inside the dinosaur to the place where an evil monster, Hishet, lives. They are cast out of the dinosaur and meet up once more with Sordet, ready for anything to happen. They were right too, Hishet was easily defeated, but Alex discovers (while going through a time warp) that after they return to 2003, James and Patrick will die in a car crash. He later realizes that this is the result of what was currently happening at the battlefield in the prehistoric, and that if they lost James and Patrick would die. Upon return to the prehistoric, Hishet is defeated and the three friends remain united. Even though this was a big victory, Sordet still lives in his extreme power, and the three primitives need some help. A decision is finally made that the cave will help out in defeating Sordet’s force of “Hirnisks,” and they form the Prehistoric Primitive Army of Neronia (PPAN). The cave men are soon taught the use of firearms. Immediately the PPAN is assaulted by Jampey, a henchman of Sordet, but he is killed along with many other henchmen as the Army charges into Sordet’s main base in the prehistoric. The seemingly infinite number of Hirnisks strangle James, Alex, and Patrick, and they are taken to Sordet, where Alex attacks him. They steal a time grenade and travel back to 2003, retrieve the Crystal, and go back to the prehistoric. The Crystal is made into Farsedy, the fuel that will get their new machine to fly, destroy, and travel through time. The plan fails, however, and they are enclosed by a flow of lava around them. Finally they are rescued and an old friend named Brian takes them away from what they did to the future: a volcanic disaster. They get into an escape pod before leaving and crash into an underground base of Sordet’s. Alex and Brian are fed to Sordet’s pet Gunthur, and James turns out to be an impostor. Alex and Brian get revived from the attack, but the three are knocked senseless and don’t remember James being evil. Sordet sends a bomb out to them in the form of a ladybug, and the three escape at the last second. Alex realizes that he has a meeting with world leaders at BCI Labs in Hong Kong, so he is taken there and a computer records the meeting. Meanwhile, the Earth’s core expands and the crust surrenders to the liquid mantle, and Alex give’s out a message to Brian to start his escape plan. Five ships are raised from the ground to save different continents, but it is already to late for Eurasia, Africa, and Australia. The trek to Mars continues anyway, and without a leader, the ships passengers are always thinking of death. The story goes into the Compsin family as the thought dead family reunites. Meanwhile, Alex and Brian are flying through space and see aliens trying to blow apart the moon and eyeing the temporary human colony on Mars that Alex set up. Alex arrives at the colony and ferociously attacks Sordet as the aliens attack and Alex helps the Compsin family run away, where they find the fake James and real James. After a minute’s decision, Alex shoots one James and he immediately transforms into Sordet with a hole in him. Brian goes down, and Alex tries to use Hirnisk magic to heal him, but instead is bitten and hurt. Limping, Alex assists Brian in fooling the passengers of the ship who begin to rebel after seeing the disaster outside unfold. Brian ends up stuck in a chicken suit with Alex but Alex gets out because a passenger was blown away in a super space storm. The passenger is saved, but then kills Alex for his decisions. Brian is shocked and holds a conference in front of every passenger, ending with the final decision that the murderer is to be killed. Alex soon returns using his Hirnisk powers. Alex returns to Earth with everyone else and battles Sordet’s robots until Sordet is convinced that he has lost. He resigns to Alex and the war is won. Sordet helps Alex in getting rid of the disasters and Lord Magma, and Alex goes through another time warp. This time Sordet has caused it. He shows Alex how the world goes through cycles of time. Alex then sees himself being born back into the world and his own time cycle restarts.
