The Crown & Corona Fan Club Finland is a Finnish organization founded in 1993 to celebrate Toyota automobiles built before 1962 (more recent vehicles being considered too modern to be of any interest). Vehicles such as the Toyota Crown, Toyota Corona and Toyota Cressida were originally considered practically worthless despite their high sale value, but over time opinion has shifted and are now some of the most highly valued Toyota cars in existence.Goals and Membership
The Crown & Corona Fan Club was founded on July 10th, 1993 at Viitasaari, Finland, mostly on the initiative of Jorma Rantala's, and was registered in 1994. The club's main goals are to help members to keep their old Crowns and Coronas in use, and to inspire restoration of the vehicles. To join the club, a person does not have to own a Crown or a Corona - interest alone is sufficient.Eligible Vehicles
The Club has an officially sanctioned list of eligible Toyota Crown and Corona car models and other models not well represented in the club are accepted on a "considered by application" basis. A member can petition the Club to add a Crown and Corona vehicle to the sanctioned list with such approval being given if the car is of a similar standard to vehicles already accepted into the Club.
Cars built between 1962 and 1994 are only accepted if they are nearly identical to previously accepted vehicles. The focus of the club is on the Toyota Crown, Toyota Corona and Toyota Cressida, but the Club accepts that many luxury and sports cars built around the same time period are actually the same as the Toyota vehicles.Complete Car List
