The Dodge Ram SRT 10 was introduced February 13, 2003 but not put out into production until 2004. Unlike the previous Ram Trucks, the SRT 10 was built solely for the purpose of speed. In fact, in February, 2004 it set both the Guinness World Record and Sports Car Club of America's record for fastest truck. The previous record holder, the Ford Lightning, attained a speed of 147.54 mph, while The SRT 10 reached a high speed of 154.59 mph. All this speed comes with a hefty price tag. The 2006 Dodge Ram SRT 10 reaches prices of approximately $47,000 for the regular cab and $52,000 for the extended cab.

Performance

The main attraction of the SRT 10 is its engine, which is an 8.3 Liter V10 Viper Engine. This engine can produce up to 500 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 525 pounds of torque at 4,200 rpm. It can reach top speeds of 150 mph and up, and it can also propel the SRT 10 from 0 to 60 in roughly 6 seconds. The 22 inch Pirelle rims and Viper performance tires gives the SRT 10 the look and traction that helps it achieve speed. The SRT 10 comes in either a 6 speed manual transmission, or a 4 speed automatic transmission.

Exterior

The Dodge Ram RT 10 has a stylish front-open cowl hood (normally cowl hoods open towards the windshield of the car). A front-open cowl hood allows cool air to enter and hot air to exit from the engine, thus making it easier to keep the engine from overheating. Another exterior feature is a rear spoiler that comes standard on all models. In addition to style, the spoiler also helps with air flow and provides a more aerodynamic design. The SRT 10 comes in three colors: black, silver, and red. It has a bed size of 6 feet, making its overall length approximately 19 feet (regular cab).

Interior

The stock stereo system of the Dodge Ram SRT 10 is generous, consisting of 8 Infinity brand speakers and subwoofers pumping out a combined 505 watts of sound. It also comes stocked with leather-trimmed suede seats for the comfort of riders.
