The current Mercury Monterey minivan is the Mercury variant of the 2004 Ford Freestar. It fills the gap in the Mercury lineup left after the cancellation of the Mercury Villager in 2002. Sales of the Monterey minivan have been exceptionally poor. It is likely that the model will be dropped by 2008.
The Mercury Monterey has a Ford-produced 201 hp 4.2 L V6 that has the most torque in the minivan class. It comes in 3 trim levels: Convenience, Luxury, and Premier. Unique features of the Monterey include available heated/cooled front seats, power sliding doors, a DVD player, a stowable and tailgating 3rd row seat, and more.Earlier Mercury Montereys
