Suzuki Alto is a very small car (keicar) by Suzuki Motors. Its selling points include low price and good fuel economy. The model was introduced in 1979 and the latest model is the Alto GL. It's powered by a 1.1 L (1061 cc; 65 in³), straight-4 engine making 62 hp. The car does 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 16.30 s and the top speed is 150 km/h (93 mph).
A turbocharged model called the Alto RS-X was also sold.
The Suzuki Alto is also built in India by Maruti Udyog. The Maruti 800, the Maruti Zen, and the Maruti Alto are based on the '86, '94, and '02 models of the Alto, respectively. All Indian models are only available with five doors.
In addition, the Korean-sourced Daewoo Tico was based on the 1982 Alto.
