The Bedouin is a small crossover SUV from Volkswagen produced for the 2007 model year. It is intended to capitalize on the recent success of crossover SUVs. It is named for the Bedouin, a generic name for Arabic nomads.
The Bedouin uses components from both the A platform (used by the Golf) and the B platform (used by the Passat). The exterior is expected to look like a smaller Touareg. It will offer front- or all-wheel drive and the 2.0 L straight-4 and 3.2 L V6 used in those cars.
