| The inaugural 1927 World Snooker Championship was organised by the snooker player, Joe Davis, who went on to win the competition by beating Tom Dennis 20–11 in the final. For his efforts he was awarded the princely sum of £6.10s. Albert Cope made the tournament's highest break of 60 – which would today be considered exceptionally modest!
