During the season, Curry and Knight began dating and then moved in with each other. On September 11, 2005, VH1 began airing My Fair Brady, a show that documented their life together, and paid her an estimated US$1.3 milllion. In an interview with www.PR.com, she said the contract did not end up being what she expected. "We were told throughout the taping of the show that the winner would have a huge cosmetics deal with Revlon," she said. "Billboards, magazines and all that wonderful fun stuff. What ended up happening was, I found out later on when I was waiting around for this deal that never showed up… I was told that it was just convention work. There had been a deal already arranged before they even picked out the contestants of the show that it would not be a big contract, but that it would just be this thing. They weren't even sure if the show would make it on the air, let alone be a smash success and then into this cult phenomenon. To be in season one of America's Next Top Model was fabulous because we were the first, but it was also a great learning experience."Adrianne has bashed Tyra Banks, on several magazines, including Page Six, The Daily Collegian, and Steppin' Out Magazine. Modeling CareerDespite not receiving her Top Model prizes, she continued to model without Banks' help. She has modeled for Stuff Magazine, People, Playboy, Maxim, Marie Claire, Lucky, Macy's, and Merit Diamonds with her earnings of $1 million. Curry appeared on the cover and in a nude pictorial for Playboy in February 2006 (U.S. Version) where she was paid $1 million for the shoot. This makes her the first Top Model contestant to pose for Playboy. Curry's runway shows include: NYC Fashion Week Spring 2005: Anne Bowen. She has appeared in a commercial for the Sirena Collection (Merit Diamonds) that ran from Nov. 2004 - January 2005. She appeared in the MTV reality show, Meet the Barkers, as a model for Travis and Shanna's clothing line Famous Stars and Straps.Trivia
QuotesOn Tyra Banks:Page Six, New York Post (February 20, 2005) — "Tyra really didn't help us out and the show didn't put any money into us ... I was supposed to get a Revlon contract, but that fell through ... We trusted Tyra but we've all been screwed over." Steppin' Out Magazine "I don't know anyone from my season who is particularly happy with the situation. There were a lot of things told to us that didn't show up on camera. Like, telling us if you win you're going to be a millionaire. That kind of stuff. It's called reality TV manipulation. Now that I'm a vet I understand. But when you're some lowly waitress from Joliet, Illinois, and Hollywood is filling your head with promises of scripts and gold you buy into it pretty quickly. I'm really glad they worked so hard for me. It's sad that I didn't notice. But I'm glad they tried. The show definitely got my foot in the door. But if you're going to deliver something, say what it is. Don't sugar coat it. Don't talk it up to something it's not. Tell me the truth. I'm a very straightforward, honest person. I'm sure you can tell that by now. I expect the same from others." [ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Adrianne Curry ] | Searches on eBayRelated searches on eBay |
