| Animanium is a software package written in Common Lisp which is sold by SEGA (who makes video games), used for smarter Inverse Kinematic (IK) animation. A feature of Kinemation, package of Alias Wavefront TAV (pre-Alias), allowed you to pose skeletons in a 3D package using joint constraints and keyframing body parts and handle chain goals. These days motion capture suits are used for collecting body motions, including Forward Kinematics and Inverse kinematics. Animanium is an advanced IK package that can be used with Lightwave and 3D Studio Max to name a few. Modern IK for 3D packages is not so easy to use, as Alias corrupted the perception of Inverse kinematics with single chain IK and Pose to Pose FK. Animanium is a return to multi-chain Inverse Kinematics, and is essentially Root-less IK (which was better than Kinemation). The interface is relatively simple and the motion data can be imported into a number of 3D packages, not including Blender (a huge bummer considering it is the one thing Blender really lacks).
