| Anorith (アノプス Anopusu in Japanese, Anorith in German and French) is a fictional character in the Pokémon franchise. It was modeled after the fossil Anomalocaris. Anorith's name is a combination of the word Anomalocaris and the suffix "lith", meaning rock or stone. CharacteristicsAppearanceAnorith is an ancient Pokémon that resembles the real-life animal it is based on, the Anomalocaris, with many pairs of "wings" along its side that enable it to swim. Its lobster-like forelimbs aid in hunting prey on the sea floor. At first glance, one may believe Anorith's eyes are the red markings on its head, but its eyes actually connected to its head by stalks, something like those of a snail.BiologyAnorith fossils are found in the Desert of Route 111 in Hoenn, where, one can deduce, warm seas once flowed millions of years ago over Hoenn. Many of Anorith's attacks utilize its retractable sharp claws, which become even stonger when it evolves into Armaldo. Like most fossilized Pokémon, it is a combonation of the Rock type, with its secondary type as Bug.In the video gamesAnorith is only found in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. To obtain, one must find the Claw Fossil in the forementioned desert, and hand it over to a Devon Reasercher in Rustboro city to have it revived.Being a first-stage Pokémon, Anorith's stats aren't anything special, but enjoys good Attack. It is however, faster than its evolution, Armaldo. In the animéEpisode 379: Where's Armaldo? Many Anorith can be seen inside the laboratory of the Professor. One of them evolves into an Armaldo, and goes into a rampage for its favorite food.In other propertiesIn the card game[ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Anorith ] | Searches on eBay |
