Atlus is a Japanese computer and video game developer and publisher. It is known for publishing the tactical role-playing game Tactics Ogre and the role-playing game Shin Megami Tensei. It purchased the rights to the Nekketsu Kouha: Kunio-Kun and Double Dragon franchises, which were started by the now-defunct Technos Japan Corporation. Atlus has recently published the tactical RPG Disgaea: Hour of Darkness in North America, which became a cult classic. The company also published Snowboard Kids and Snowboard Kids 2 for the Nintendo 64.

The Megami Tensei franchise was originally acquired from Namcot. Atlus had nothing to do with the first two Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei games, which were released for the NES. The first Megami Tensei game was based on a trilogy, while the second was an original story that shares similar themes to the original novels.

In 2004, in collaboration with Sting and Bandai, Atlus released Riviera: The Promised Land, a fantasy RPG for the Game Boy Advance.

Atlus is notorious for publishing short runs of individual games in America. Games published by the company are often difficult to find a few months after their release dates.
