| The Babylon Rogues are a fictious group of avian thieves in SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog video-game series. The group consists of Jet the Hawk, Wave the Swallow and Storm the Albatross. Their only appearance has been in the 2006 game Sonic Riders. Within the game, the group are hired by Dr. Eggman to compete in his airboard-racing tournament against Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower and Knuckles the Echidna. All members have flames tattooed on their wrists. Wave's wrists however, are covered by her gloves, and has pink flames printed on the bottom of her pant legs instead. History of the Babylon RoguesAccording to history, The Babylon Rogues were an order of thieves that existed possibly for centuries. It's been confirmed that they once resided on a floating island known as the 'Babylon Garden.' (This is most likely a reference to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.)The Babylonian Rogues were said to have excelled in the usage of Extreme Gear, which they used to travel the world in their endless pursuit of treasure. A Babylonian artefact called "Magic Carpet" was said to be the first Extreme Gear ever created, was found sealed in the Babylonian Fortress. As for their eventual demise, legend has it the Babylonians angered the gods, and as punishment the Babylon Garden was buried beneath the desert sands. Current MembersJet the HawkA green hawk, Jet serves as Sonic's new rival within the Babylon Rogues. He is the leader of the Babylon Rogues and is known as the "Legendary Wind Master" due to being a master on Extreme Gear. He also carries around a mysterious control box that has been rumored to be passed down from his ancestors. The box seems to awaken the ancient Babylon city out from underneath the sand. Rumor has it that it needs to be activated by the Chaos Emeralds, and that the Babylon Gardens contain a hidden treasure, which is what the Rogues want it for.He advances all the way to the finals of the EX World Grand Prix, and wins (by cheating, with help from Wave, who had detonated a small bomb underneath Sonic's board). He also races Sonic to chase Eggman for the Babylonian Treasure. After losing to Sonic, Sonic throws Jet the Babylonian Key, not wanting it. Jet, Wave and Storm go to the door to the Babylonian fortress, and the Babylon Guardian is awakened. Lucklily, Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles help them defeat the guardian, only to find that the treasure was the magic carpet. Eventually, Jet and Sonic bury the hatchet at the climax of the storyline, and they remain friendly racing rivals. His green airboard is the Type J, and is supposed to rival Sonic's for speed. He eventually admits that Sonic is the fastest, but Jet is still determined to defeat him. Some fans believe Jet was modelled after Bean the Dynamite from Sonic the Fighters, and at first, people mistook Jet to be that same character. The magazine Nintendo Power made a joke about Jet and Bean's resemblance by showing a picture of Jet with text that read "Bean, is that you?" Wave the SwallowWave (originally called Web because of translation errors) is a purple swallow with technical skills highly superior to those of Tails and Dr. Eggman in the field of Extreme Gear. It's her speciality, and she never misses an opportunity to brag about her skills in that particular area. She is also the daughter of the tech expert from the previous generation of Babylon Rogues. Wave rides her own Type W board, which excels in air time. In the EX World Grand Prix, she beats Amy Rose in Red Canyon, but gets knocked off the tournament by Tails in Green Cave. She bears a slight resemblance to Rouge the Bat, and the Japanese website hints a rivalry between the two. In some races, one can see that Wave wears glasses.Much like how Vector the Crocodile is made fun of for his line of "Find the computer room!", Wave is infamous for the fact that she says to Storm, "Accept it buddy, it's not the board. Your skills just SUCK!" She often reminds Storm and Jet about their responsibilities, and this is exaggerated before White Cave as Wave starts blabbering so much, it changes to a high-pitched, incredibly fast chatter, similar to the chattering on telephones in cartoons. Wave still calls Tails "Shorty", but their rivalry has diminished a small bit. Storm the AlbatrossA massive grey albatross, Storm is a powerful force, capable of smashing through almost anything. His air board is the Type S, which allows him to smash through obstacles. Storm is Jet's right hand man, but has a quick temper and stutters when flustered. Storm holds fast to his duties but his clumsiness only manages to embarrass himself and his fellow teammates (such as the fact that despite his strength, he was knocked off the Type S by Knuckles in the intro, allowing Sonic to steal the board and chase Jet). During the EX World Grand Prix, Storm lost to Knuckles in Egg Factory. After reporting to Jet, he is ordered to get information on Eggman, and goes to the Ice Factory. He returns with a piece from Eggman's diary, which is vital for the Babylon Rogues, stating that Eggman has tricked the Rogues into thinking the treasure was a gem.[ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Babylon Rogues ] | Searches on eBay |
