Burswood International Resort Casino () is located on the Swan River some five minutes from the city of Perth, Western Australia. Open 24 hours a day, the Casino includes, nine restaurants and six bars, a luxury 413-room InterContinental Burswood Hotel, a multifunctional Convention Centre, the Burswood Theatre and the Burswood Dome. Burswood Train Station is near at the Burswood Dome which provides public transport to/from Perth City, which its services is provided by Transperth. The Burswood International Resort Casino is now owned by the Australian media conglomerate PBL.

History

  • 25th March 1985 - Project commenced
  • 30th December 1985 - Burswood Casino opened
  • 28th August 1987 - Burswood Dome opened
  • 6th October 1987 - Burswood Resort Hotel opened
  • 20 November 1987 - Burswood Convention Centre opened
  • 8th April 1988 - Official opening of Burswood Complex
  • 2004 - PBL acquired full control of Burswood International Resort and Casino

Casino

The Burswood Casino operates 24 hours, 7 days a week. It is the only casino operator in Perth, Western Australia. There are many coin operated game machines with a variety of games. Games such as Keno, Poker, Blackjack.

There are many Baccarat, Mini Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette and Caribbean Stud tables.

Entrance Requirements:

Age Restriction
  • Customers must be 18 years of age or over to enter Burswood International Resort Casino.
Identification Requirements - Customers may be asked to produce acceptable identification which could be one of the following:

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence with photograph;
  • Western Australian Proof of Age Card;
  • Valid Passport.
Dress Standards - The dress standard for Burswood Casino and The Ruby Room is smart casual; customers must be clean, neat and tidy at all times.

The following dress is considered unacceptable:

  • Ripped, torn or soiled clothing
  • T-shirts with offensive designs/words
  • Singlets or tank tops
  • Sleeveless or flannelette/chequered shirts
  • Active sporting attire
  • Manual work clothing and boots
  • Hats, caps or bandannas
  • Thongs, beach sandals, massage sandals, unclean or untidy footwear.

Burswood Park

The area surrouding the Casino is known as Burswood Park and is managed by the Burswood Park Board. Originally a rubbish tip from the mid 1940's, the construction of the casino complex also saw the parklands regenerated into a public recreational facility. Today the park contains wildflower displays, heritage trail with various statues, and the Burswood Park Public Golf Course.

Burswood Dome

The Burswood Dome is a large enclosed venue for entertainment, sporting, or special events. The dome is 8,800 square metres in size, with seating for 13,600 people. The whole arena is pressurised so that the fibreglass roof is suspended 35m above the ground.

The dome was expected to be demolished after it hosts its last contracted Hopman Cup in 2007. Due to the Burswood Peninsula apartments being opened, it was announced the Delta Goodrem concert in July 2005 would be the last concert held at the Dome. The WA government have since come to an agreement to hold 10 concerts a year up till December 2007, and extend the Hopman Cup contract till 2008.
