Calam is referred to in Yeesha's journals in Myst V: End of Ages. According to the journals, Calam was a D'ni Writer who taught Yeesha most of her knowledge about the Art. He became one of her dearest friends before being murdered by an unknown assassin.

Based on an imager recording in the Great Shaft, Yeesha feels she is responsible for Calam's death. Her actual role in his demise is unknown.
