Chess Oscar is an international award given to the best chess player every year. The awardee is selected by a poll of chess experts across the world, including grandmasters. The award comprises of a bronze statuette titled The Fascinated Wanderer. The award had its genesis in 1967 with journalists accredited at chess events voting for the best grandmaster. The awards were given away uninterrupted till the year 1988. The event is now co-ordinated by the Russian chess magazine, "64," which has been giving away the award from 1995. It has a lot of value in the chess fraternity as it is viewed as a sort of peer recognition. Since 1995, Garry Kasparov and Viswanathan Anand are the only two that have won the prize at least 4 times.Winners
