Cyber Dragon is a Duel Monster commonly used by Zane Truesdale in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX series as his trump card. The Cyber Dragons are considered to be mechanical equivalents to the Blue-Eyes White Dragon series; while weaker in terms of attack and defense, they have special abilities that the Blue-Eyes series lack. The fusions that derive from Cyber Dragon are also powerful due to their abilities and the sheer power that they provide.

Cyber Dragon is used in every duel that Zane Truesdale is seen in during the series and its abilities and power merit its Jaden Yuki, he astonishes Jaden with its ability to be Special Summoned when he is at a disadvantage in number of monsters. His Cyber Dragon is easily able to incinerate Jaden's Elemental Hero Avian. After Cyber Dragon is destroyed via the effect of Jaden's Elemental Hero Thunder Giant, Zane summons it back with Monster Reborn and fuses it with another in his hand to form Cyber Twin Dragon. Using Cyber Twin Dragon's ability to attack twice in a row, he would have been victorious if Jaden had not summoned Wroughtweiler to the field via his Trap Card A Hero Emerges. On his next turn, he acquires his Power Bond card from his Different Dimension Capsule and is able to summon Cyber End Dragon through Power Bond after separating the Cyber Twin Dragon into its respective parts with De-Fusion. Due to Power Bond, Cyber End Dragon is boosted to 8000 attack points, and with its special ability, it is able to deal battle damage even when battling defense-position monsters, and it annihilates Jaden's Elemental Hero Mudballman with a massive flash of energy as well as dealing 5000 points of damage to Jaden's Life Points, winning the duel for Zane.Seven Star Duel
The next time Cyber Dragon is seen is when Zane duels Camilla, one of the Shadow Riders sent to acquire the keys to unlocking the Sacred Beast Cards. In this duel, the different variants of Cyber Dragon are seen, such as Cyber Barrier Dragon and Cyber Laser Dragon. Zane is able to summon Cyber End Dragon in his first move by using Power Bond to fuse the three Cyber Dragons in his hand. He later splits it using De-Fusion to prevent one of Camula's trap cards from giving her 8000 Life Points from Cyber End Dragon's attack and also to prevent him from taking damage from Power Bond. When Camula summons Vampire Genesis, Zane blocks the assault by using Attack Reflector Unit to sacrifice one of his Cyber Dragons to summon Cyber Barrier Dragon, which can negate one attack every turn it is in attack mode. The following turn, Zane uses Photon Generator Unit to sacrifice his two other Cyber Dragons to summon Cyber Laser Dragon, whose special ability allows it to destroy any monster with attack or defense points greater than Cyber Laser Dragon's own. He destroys Vampire Genesis with this ability and proceeds to hammer Camula's Life Points down to 800 with his monsters. Zane ultimately loses the next turn when Camula uses Illusion Gate, to destroy all his monsters and resummons Cyber End Dragon to her field. Although Zane could have blocked the attack by summoning Cyber Barrier Dragon via Call of the Haunted and possibly win the duel, he chose not to do so due his opponent's shadow powers which held captive the soul of Syrus, Zane's brother. Therefore, winning the duel meant sacrificing Syrus' soul, something Zane would not accept, similar to how Kaiba would not complete his assault against Noah at the cost of Mokuba.Second Duel with Jaden
When Zane duels Jaden for a second time, he uses Cyber End Dragon extensively and has cards in his deck that allowed him to summon it multiple times. This duel is an excellent showpiece for the various cards Zane uses to support his Cyber Dragon in its various forms. He summons the Cyber End Dragon to the field in his first move using Polymerization. However, Jaden divides this Cyber End Dragon using Wild Half which halves the attack points of the Cyber End Dragon and summons an additional token with the same halved statistics and effect. Jaden then attempts to destroy them using Elemental Hero Wildheart but is foiled when Zane uses De-Fusion to summon his three Cyber Dragons to the field. Furthermore, Zane had played Different Dimension Capsule in his first turn, allowing him to retrieve any card from his Deck and then place it in his hand after two turns had elapsed. He then reveals the Spell Card Treasure from a Different Dimension, which allows both players to draw two cards when it is brought back to the hand after being removed from play. Chazz Princeton mentions the card advantage that Zane got from this move (note that this is the first time anyone in the series even mentions card advantage, as miraculous draws of cards such as Pot of Greed, Card of Demise, and especially Card of Sanctity have kept hands full). Although the Cyber Dragons are effective, Jaden, manages to destroy them in one turn with Elemental Hero Wildedge. However, Zane proves how much his deck depends on the Cyber Dragons by returning them to his deck with the Return Soul Trap Card. He then plays Future Fusion, which allows a Fusion Monster to be summoned by fusing the components that are in the deck together. Therefore he summons Cyber End Dragon again.
