| source (Phazon), Dark Samus decides to find another planet infected by Phazon. Metroid Prime was able to sense Phazon without actually being near it, and this is possibly how she learned about the Phazon located on Planet Aether. When she arives, she learns that the local inhabitants of Aether, the Luminoth, are battling with a foe known as the Ing. Due to the Phazon meteor strike on Aether, Dark Aether, a mirror image of Aether, was created. This happened due to the massive energy Phazon provides as well as the force of the impact. The impact and subsequent creation of Dark Aether also created the Ing, dark counterparts to the Luminoth of Aether. The planetary energy available for Aether was divided and each half of planet, dangerously unstable, battle for the planetary energy. However, Light Aether has lost 3 out of their 4 energy containers, leaving Aether dangerously unstable and the last of the Luminoth in Stasis Pods, with only one Luminoth protecting them. Dark Samus then learns that most of the Phazon can be located on Dark Aether, so she travels there using machines created by the Luminoth to enter the poisoned, twisted world. Dark Samus then begins to absorb Phazon in an attempt to regain its strength. During this time, Dark Samus finds out that the Space Pirates have much Phazon in their base in Agon Wastes, and decides to raid the Pirates. Due to her Phazon enhanced abilities, Dark Samus is able to easily and successfully raid the Pirates time and again. However, she does not seek the death of the Space Pirates (like Samus does) and only kills those who stand between her and her energy source. The Space Pirates suffer many losses. After possibly a year, Samus Aran arrives on Aether. Samus is in Aether because the Galactic Federation wants to investigate the loss of some Marines on the planet. Deciding to get revenge, Dark Samus leads Samus to Dark Aether, where she starts absorbing more Phazon. Once Samus arrives, Dark Samus destroys the Dark Samus then decides to raid the Space Pirates again, but this time she encounters Samus. Looking for new weapons, Samus goes to the Pirates' base in Agon Wastes, where she sees Dark Samus, and the two battle. During the fight, Samus scans Dark Samus and learns more about her foe. Dark Samus has a formidable arsenal at her command, which includs a Phazon powered spread-shot, a Phazon charge shot, a faster version of Samus's missiles, a powerful Boost Ball attack, the ability to raise a Phazon shield, capable of deflecting missiles and damaging foes within the shields reach, and the ability to turn into an invulnerable meteor that could launch itself at Samus. Dark Samus also can hover/fly. Halfway through the battle, Dark Samus powers up, but it is not enough to defeat Samus. However, Dark Samus then explodes into blue particles that float in the air. Samus, believing her opponent destroyed, continues her quest. Dark Samus next encounters Samus in Torvus Bog. Dark Samus sees Samus in the Hydrodynamo Station, and once again splits into her particle form. When Samus arrives, Dark Samus regains her form and laughs. Dark Samus then departs. Second EncounterDark Samus then travels to Sanctuary Fortress after sensing Phazon resources there. It is of the Emperor Ing and the last point in Dark Aether that possesses planetary energy. After defeating the Emperor Ing, Dark Aether begins to collapse, unable to sustain itself. When Samus leaves the Sky Temple and is on her way out of Dark Aether, she is once again confronted by Dark Samus. However, Dark Samus has absorbed so much Phazon that she is dangerously unstable. Dark Samus undergoes some physical changes, including her armor becoming transparent, and developing a third eye. Dark Samus can now render herself invisible to more than one visor, has a much more powerful Phazon laser, and can generate a Phazon force field that makes her almost invulnerable. Dark Samus' instability means that she has to vent out Phazon particles in frequent intervals to stay alive, and the Phazon particles she sends out are captured by Samus' Power Beam and used to damage Dark Samus, as they are the only thing that can damage her at this point. Dark Samus's essence overloads and she falls to the floor. She slowly walks towards Samus and tries to touch her, but splits into her particle form, which fades away. Samus then escapes and Dark Aether is destroyed. If players manage to achieve 100% completion in their game, a bonus scene will be unlocked after the ending. In orbit around Aether, blue Phazon particles appear out of nowhere and merge together, and Dark Samus is reborn. [ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Dark Samus ] | Searches on eBay |
