| The Darkspear Tribe is a jungle troll tribe in the fictional Warcraft Universe. The Darkspear tribe was forced to overcome its prejudices when it encountered the orc Warchief Thrall, and his mighty Horde. The trolls of the Darkspear tribe, long since exiled from their ancestral lands in Stranglethorn Vale, were nearly destroyed by rampaging murlocs. Rescued by the young Warchief Thrall and his orcish warriors, the Darkspear tribe swore allegiance to the Horde. During the Third War, the cunning Shadow Hunter Vol'jin and his Darkspear trolls fought alongside Thrall and the Horde in the Third War against the Burning Legion. After the war, the trolls settled in the Echo Isles off the eastern coast of the orcs' new nation of Durotar. Peace was short-lived, however, as the Kul Tiras navy under the leadership of Admiral Daelin Proudmoore landed on the shores of Kalimdor and promptly made plans to lay siege to the Darkspear trolls on the Echo Isles. Rexxar, Champion of the Horde, along with his companions made it to Vol'jin in time to warn him of the imminent attack. The Echo Isles were quickly evacuated. The islands being the third home that the Darkspears had been cast out of, the Darkspear tribe determined to find for themselves a stable home. Led by the shadow hunter Vol'jin, the Darkspear trolls now make their home in Durotar along with their orcish allies. Their village, named after their fallen tribal elder, Sen'jin, lies along the eastern coast of the harsh, rocky land. From here the trolls seek to gain a permanent foothold in the world from which they can have the chance to expand and prosper. Indeed, as members of the Horde, the trolls have established settlements throughout Horde territory. The largest troll-built city in the Horde is Shadowprey Village in Desolace. The witch doctor Jin'zil established the small outpost of Malaka'jin in the Stonetalon Mountains As part of the Horde, the Trolls have extended their loyalty to the mighty Tauren, but they have little trust for the manipulative Forsaken, whom they believe will visit only misery and strife upon them and their allies.
