de_vertigo is made up of two stories of a skyscraper that is under construction. Due to this, the main obstacles are ducts and stacks of plywood. The Counter-Terrorists spawn directly above the Terrorists where one of the bomb sites is located. The other bomb site is located to the right of the Counter-Terrorists' spawn near racks of computer systems.Criticism
Vertigo is sometimes accused of being unbalanced in favor of the Counter-Terrorists. The Counter-Terrorists can easily cover all possible paths that the Terrorists can take. The Counter-Terrorists have the elevated position on the two main "choke" points in Vertigo: a ramp and some stairs. There is also a ladder right next to the spawn points, which connects the Counter-Terrorists' and the Terrorists'. The ladder is too high for the Terrorists to climb up without boosting each other. Additionally, the closeness of the spawn points combined with a nearby ladder can allow the two teams to "grenade spam" each other's spawn points by rapidly re-purchasing grenades.Uniqueness
Vertigo features many ledges that players can jump off. It is common at the end of a round, or when there is no hope left, for players to jump off of the edge.
